Hindsight Investment Club was founded in 1972 by a group of local businessmen, and although investing is an important part of the club’s activities, there has always been a strong emphasis on having fun and fellowship within the club, with a strong accent on social events, which traditionally have been carried out in some considerable style.

Nominally the club is allowed a maximum of 35 members, with members drawn from various businesses and professions throughout the area.  Membership is by invitation only. There are four quarterly dinners a year, which are held in some of the best restaurants in the area. In addition, the club has enjoyed many excursions and visits to interesting places and businesses, occasionally even abroad.

There is an investment committee which is charged with managing the club’s shared portfolio, with the aims of supporting the club’s social activities, whilst also growing the value of members’ units. However, the philosophy has always been one of speculating in more unusual shares and acceptance that there will be winners are losers. The club’s approach to investments is summed up with our motto “Crapus Ni Bustus” but never in matters of conviviality !
